ROOT SYSTEM RECOVERY TRAINING

LOOKING FOR A FEW GOOD WOMEN AND MEN

  1. Its not about money, its about passion
  2. Adults are already teachers and leaders. They only need help from an advanced learning platform to help them distill and
  3. To build a leading edge organization to prepare all patriarchal styles for optimal use this 21st century
  4. Training designed for older experienced martial arts and healing practitioners with long term
  5. Whose decades of searching has led their interest to a single point of looking to themselves embody for rare original transmissions couched in highest vibration of Ren Ai (Love for Humanity)
  6.  who see the path to bridge the martial and spiritual, as being their own healthy aging and longevity and legacy work (know thyself, know others) - most important being to leave a more learning conducive setting behind for younger generations to launch from
  7. The legacy component (Stanford) of an older person's life for health and happiness has been known by the East, but just now becoming acknowledged in Western science. It goes without saying that the attic must be cleared in order to move to a new home. Root Recovery is miraculous in how the past is not just let go of, but processed as fuel for the new learning that is to replace it. Our TongBi Self Repair, Legacy Work, is fundamental to clearing and preparing the way. As you are not just recapitulating your personal life, but ancestry and tradition that you are a part of.
  8. IP System we utilize we use as a template for our own. To get to higher attainment you can distill the essence from your current skillset.

  9. We've combined it with best features of West to make NCWPLS terms depicts Chinese civilization's own root recovery
  10. [[[The best path to their own fulfillment is indirect - most open intelligence producing the best fighters and healers. Curriculum involving connecting with "New China West history", breaking apart 1800s IP Tai Chi, Ba Gua traditions we inherited, extract revolutionary Chinese medicine discoveries, including differentces in women and men's learning and training, m/f within oneself.

  1. The modern practitioner must have three things:
    1. Know Self, know the world, producing the ability to adapt and innovate in it
    2. Awareness of one's own culture and history of language so as to avoid misinterpretation - that it doesn't get in the way
    3. extraordinary practical abilities, success in one's field above the norm (POC)
  2. To open to the system you need to open to culture (vs Western interpretation, blockages lurking within vocabulary)
  3. In an age where practices are valued as functional tools (but not for inner)
  4. we offer: (a) look and feel of the 4th generation, (b) anatomy of the human body understood through anatomy of traditional Chinese culture and language <most not interested in going so deep>
  5. Bottom line--skills that few can match
  6. Imperial Palace Root System Transmission
  7. Heavy Medicine Hands Training - mental positioning produces physical positioning
  8. Our training is constantly having breakthroughs and evolving. That aside, it is such a different tact from the norm, that when you join we catch you up to speed and pick up from where YOU left off on your own inquiry.
  9. Fill inside with substance (chong shi nei rong) does not mean "Qi-energy" but life knowledge and relationship wisdom. Which serves as fodder for you as quickly and safely as possible to fortify the total body constituted of physical and non physical. This is the new norm we are setting for the 21st century standard of Human Being. You cannot BE Human with this new frame that factors in recent feminine rising consciousness on the planet.
  10. Most recent of Nov 2025, we've identified deep underlying factors why so many people are hitting a wall in their progress. It's less to do with potential, but with conditioned beliefs ingrained in us from our culture and inadvertently bring into study.

  11. Curriculum: Imperial Palace Heavy Medicine Hands Training - universal system that can enhance all practices. Divided into (I) (wen) complete orthodox system transmisson ONLINE, (II) Point of Contact Mastery (LIVE). One doesn't work without the other.
  12. Mission: this program is a continuation of our research in current Shengren classes and on the private Shengren Mastery FB group. We have uncovered a hidden essential cause of dissapointment and unfulfillment in people of all backgrounds the last 50 years when martial arts became available in the West. What continues to be lacking is a significant interface that enables one to work past cultural languaging and biases, keeping one from living into the material enough to truly become it. The youth and future generation who are the valuable recipients of this knowledge will either adopt our unresolved baggage, or adopt distilled essence tailored to the modern condition. In a sense this responsiblity is the same that any self aware parent in not wanted to hand off ancestral generational delusions to their children. Our inheritance of highest level root systems that offer a complete description of the human body as well as standard of character and application that - as Service to the world was designed for adaptablity and innovation while preservign the complete internal principles. The Chinese  had worked in perfecting such systems for thousands of years throughout the course of its history. Modern psychology has been an essential tool in offering a general interface usable by all people.
  13. Logo - two children's hands. They neither have interest, nor shouldn't be subjected to repeating the history we went through. Lifestyle difference, all can benefit, doesn't need to be all they did like it was for us. But benefit from mind body discipline, respect and ethics, self awareness, family community culture; but not take up so much of their time.
  14. Who for: for older martial arts practitioners in the early years when secrecy and new to Western culture; decades of struggling with partial information, perhaps jumping from style to style, teacher to teacher, awkwardly bridging traditional obeyance with modern innovation, or sticking with a teacher who you thought had it all, but now three decades or so later, you discovered didn't. Healing from many wounds. This training specifically designed to bring you fulfillment, and making use of your abundant life experience, now with information boon, EWON, MMA, highly trained athletes, now in some ways knowing more than the old teachers did, and with this global perspective, decide what to keep and what to let go of; not shy away from the reality that traditions need upgrading if it to resurrect the respectability that martial arts once had, to as one who is mastering their whole life, contribute to restructuring of new China West curriculum for children and generations to come.
  15. Who For2? The dangers of bringing a foreign healing discipline into your Western life. Spiritual bypassing as a sociological phenomenon.
  16. Research Inquiry: This is the thinking of the new age of individual power in community. The social consciousness of the Shengren training is how you can really make a contribution. To represent a field or a lineage is no longer respected. People want to see what you can do with the sum total of all your life learning and experience.
  17.   Why IMA and healing not reaching its potential is because (a) men dao standard has been lost--we've recovered dual paths of happiness and freedom, power and control, (b) upgrading of this method necessary that includes modern West
  18. To just look around at the state of the world, and at our lifestyles, most of us would agree that hand to hand fighting is the last thing needed. Knowing how to be inner happy and free amidst the stress and uncertainty of future is by far the life skill preferred. Joy
  19. This program makes best use of the benefits of modern information and communication tech, of modern psychological analysis of group dynamics, overlays atop of little known root IP martial art systems values and methods that being empty of religion, allow the modern user to incorporate their reality
  20. it is specifically designed to supply the older practitioner (with natural concerns about healthy aging) with a setting in which to make their optimal contribution (a) to the field by actualizing mastery they've long been after,  (b) for this contribution being to distill essence from their own life and practices together with cohorts create a new educational and training culture for younger generation:
    1. joy from Ren Ai replacing fear and anger; attitude whereby all interactions are consciously done for sake of furthering the healing of humanity
    2. It separated the two paths (A) and (B) enabling customized training based on individual needs
    3. wisdom and personal intelligence breeds martial and healing capability
    4. intelligence is whole life wisdom and perspective taking into account whole life picture and applied to reading character of opponents/people you are in relationship with

  21. inner principles and concepts are 70% can be applied to any existing form
  22. retained knowledge of how this 70% inner practice boosts the development of the outer
  23. We customized this system especially (a) older men, (b) with existing practices
  24. PERSONAL PROJECT-
    1. Open US training group--aim is to aggressively put the knowledge and capability of two IP root systems in your hands

Rationale For a New Teaching Initiative

Despite the plethora of information about Yang Tai Chi publicly available, substantial roadblocks continue to exist preventing us from reaching the attainments of our great Tai Chi ancestors. For the last two and half years since having rejoined the Tai Chi community with the launch of my YouTube channel, I've observed the chief problem not to lie in limits of individual talent or drive. Rather, our current Tai Chi culture does not support the expansion of thought needed to grasp the range and scope of its mysteries. If you cannot imagine something you cannot manifest it. Beyond its value as a recreational and self development exercise there is so much more to Tai Chi lying just beyond reach of our fingertips.

Our Role in Tai Chi's Evolution

While other world empires have risen and fallen, China is the only civilization in history to have resurrected itself repeatedly. As an emblematic product of its deep resilient culture, it is likely that Tai Chi Chuan too will be able to reconstitute itself to its original glory.

The One-Year Shengren Mentorship Program consists of weekly 2.0 hour long Zoom meetings taken accompanied by 4-Day live hands on retreats. Participants consist of students, practitioners and teachers, who contribute their own rich experience and feedback to give context to the ancient transmissions.

With this shift away from the number one guru ideology, instruction consists of leading participants through the steps of preparing their own inner garden or laboratory through which to grow the regenerative seed of Tai Chi greatness within themselves. Done this way, if a 21st century resurrection of the original standard is to be matched or even surpassed, it will be accomplished not in the hands of one or even a handful of individuals, but through the collective innovative attainments of the community as a whole.

The One Year Shengren Mentorship Program differs from other training in considering martial arts skills as a secondary byproduct of innovative advances they make in their own fields of experience and expertise. Graduates are promoted for independent teachings derived from their personal lives un-affliated with the lineages they received their training in.

Historical Re-Framing
Insights will be sought through the meticulous surveying of China's unbroken chronology. Of what's known as its Si Da Men Pai 四大门派 "Four great martial art schools" - chronologically, Shao Lin Quan, Xing Yi Quan, Tai Chi Chuan, Ba Gua Quan. Taken together they are testament to the fact that Chinese innovation continued across Chinese history continuing to undergo revolutionary advances into the 1800s right up to when the dynasties fell in 1906.

You will experience how the third and fourth great schools interpreted core principles of yin yang, medicine, and change. Doing this side by side comparison in itself has proven to be of incalculable value.

System Comparison

That said, the overall workshop layout and atmosphere is conducive to examining deep methods in a fun relaxed way. The two groups together will look through an expanded lens in examining what could be learned about Yang Lu Chan's 1800s Tai Chi innovation from the perspective of greater Chinese history and culture.

Dr.Yuen's inheritance of a  zhengtongxitong 正统系统 "complete orthodox system" from 23-year classical discipleship in Baguaquan provides the "medicine" framework with which to analyze Yang Sau Chung's advanced corrections.

Insofar as the founding Yang family proclaims its Tai Chi to be zhengzongyangtaiji 正宗太极 "authentic Yang family Tai Chi", this invitation is being extended to you to together examine in what ways this 第三大门派 3rd great school of martial arts in Tai Chi Chuan 太极拳 compares with the 第四大门派 4th and final great school in Ba Gua Quan 八卦拳.

Blending Discoveries of Two Pure 4th Generation Lineage Systems

  • Tai Chi Chuan: Yang Lu Chan <> Yang Jian Hou <> Yang Shao Hou/Yang Cheng Fu <> Yang Sau Chung (1910-1985)
  • Ba Gua Quan: Dong Hai Chuan <> Yin Fu <> Gong Bao Tian <> Gong Bao Zhai (1904-2000)

Enrollment gains you unprecedented access to the direct transmissions Dr. Yuen himself received from family members of these two famous systems, arguably the cloak and bowl descendants of the two 4th generation pedigree traditions.

You will have an opportunity to experience first-hand the difference between what a pedigree versus hybrid training and transmission is like. Importantly, you will learn how both Tai Chi and Ba Gua as authentic family traditions were notably designed to be entirely self encased and self sufficient, not requiring outside help to engender complete development in a practitioner.

Seeking a Common Medicine Link

We borrowed from Orthodox martial arts three traditional ways of working the "medicine" in the system. It provides practitioners three ways to assess the different practices under comparison, as well as to help find common ground between them. They are: (1) its health, healing, and life benefits, (2) the specific element or aspect of the traditional method that interfaces yin yang producing special skills and abilities, and (3) the complete orthodox system that provides the framework and culture for the highest human attainment.

"Tong Bi Postural Restoration" to Create Space For New Experience

You are introduced to a new approach distilled from Gong Bao Zhai's Orthodox Ba Gua Quan. Tong Bi Postural Restoration or "Tong Bi" for short is a derivation of a greater discipline called Tong Bi Self Awareness Meditation, Practice and Therapy.

By giving you access to the root process of yin yang, Chinese medicine, and Change inside your body, you are taught how to use TongBi to examine the effects of Yang Sau Chung's layered way of performing the solo form on their mind body transformation. Moreover, to understand the mechanism behind the layered architecture of the various Tai Chi partner practices, including pushing hands to self defense training.

Which do I Choose, Group I. or II.?

In this fascinating leading edge training everyone is taught equally. The two groups will be working side by side engaged at two different levels of engagement with the Tai Chi and Ba Gua systems.

  • Group I. Physical transmission, Oral transmission, two system presentation and comparative analysis, personalized corrective exercise prescriptions based off of weekly or private interactions
  • Group II. Physical transmission and Oral transmission

"Mental preparation" is needed by members of Group I. to be able digest the immense amount of information that will be presented in the two system comparison. Context is laid and mental endurance developed through participation in the weekly online Zoom meetings.

Consolidate Your Tai Chi Chuan Practice

Grandmaster Yang Sau Chung (楊守中 Yang Shou Zhong) (1910-1985) explicitly related to Dr. Yuen that his family's Yang Tai chi origins is attributed to legendary priest Zhang San Feng of Wu Dang Monastery. Eldest son of Yang Cheng Fu and the family's 4th generation cloak and bowl descendant, Yang Sau Chung's family method is the unacknowledged leading standard of Yang Tai Chi practice in the world. Learn from his relationship and training with Yang Sau Chung and his disciple, Ginsoon Chu.

Learn why Ba Gua Quan is called a "Mysterious Transmission"

Grandmaster Gong Bao Zhai 宫宝齋(1904-2000) attributed the origins of Ba Gua Quan to legendary Emperor FuXi founder of Chinese civilization. A village relative of 3rd generation Gong Bao Tian who was trained in the Imperial Palace as a child and inherited the position from Yin Fu as last bodyguard to the Empress Dowager in the Forbidden City. As 4th generation cloak and bowl descendant Gong Bao Zhai's history paralleled that of Yang Sau Chung in only having studied a single complete orthodox system his entire life. Learn the essence of Ba Gua Quan from formal 5th generation lineage holder Dr. Yuen who across a 23-year classical discipleship received in-depth transmission of the original Dong Hai Chuan system.

Customized Transmission

Benefit from closely working with Dr.Yuen as he shares his experience with early generation masters, as well as from his extensive studies in a wide variety of fields.

Learn from Expertise Combining Many Fields

Dr. Yuen enjoys sharing the insights he's gained as a psychologist and teacher, as well as from his career in clinical Chinese medicine where over thousands of cases he has refined the classical knowledge for modern use.

Testimonials

Priceless and Rare

by Steve, UK

After decades of searching and spending money, time, and effort in Tai Chi, I have come to the understanding that there are two types of Tai Chi instructors. One is passionate about their Tai Chi business. The other is passionate about their Tai Chi students’ progress. My search is over because here I am a person, not an account number. Dr. Mike cares about making me better than himself. That is priceless, and so rare.

A Lot of New Correlations & Insights

by Gunnar, Germany

It is helpful and interesting that Mike puts everything into a well-thought and logical context and does not just focus on the pure technical level. That broadens the horizon and deepens the understanding.

Brings in the Power of the Original Tai Chi Masters

by Steve, Canada

Power pushing is the missing link to what I’ve suspected was absent from almost all the Tai Chi I’ve learned to date. It simply brings in the power that the original Tai Chi masters were known for. Although much more learning and training are forthcoming, I can already feel the results and realize the potential.

“Closed Door” Transmission

by Gunther, Colorado

Dr. Mike’s Yuen's REAL TAI CHI training is a powerful algorithm for what I believe is the next phase in the evolution of the Traditional Yang Family systems as well as related lineages. Mike is taking the “Closed Door” transmission he personally received from Yang Sau Chung (Yang Cheng Fu’s eldest son) to a new level that includes both the martial & health benefits but goes well beyond them to a new synthesis of Eastern wisdom & Western technology manifesting as the state of Embodied Presence.

Unique Approach With Great Results

by Mike, Ohio

Dr. Mike is offering a unique approach for those not only interested in Tai Chi but mind/body health and human potential. Traditionally, Yang family power pushing is taught to experienced students after learning the solo form. Dr. Mike is introducing it in the early stage of his curriculum with great results. All designed to accelerate understanding and progress. Refreshing is the confidence Dr. Mike has in his students. Dr. Yuen says keep what you have, no need to empty anything. Just be open to integrating Yang Sau Chung’s practices along with modern advances to deepen and expand all that you've learned.

Transforms Your Practice Into Something Much Richer

Matt, Texas

If you feel like your Tai Chi is not as full and powerful as it could be, Dr. Mike's insights and training can help you transform your practice into something much richer. It's not just the "JI Pressing Power Pushing" but a whole set of practices that turn modern Tai Chi on its head. The training helps untie ingrained habits and helps put them in a new light, opening up whole new frontiers of development in your practice.

Understanding Teacher Strongly Motivates His Students

Gerhard, Switzerland

Private Zoom lessons with Doctor Mike Yuen are very valuable in many ways. Due to his decades of experience in accompanying/instructing renowned masters, he has a deep knowledge in the field of martial arts. This in combination with his decades of experience as a psychologist, as well as the deep study of traditional Chinese medicine, is a great complement to the deeper understanding of Yang Style Tai Chi. His teaching is well structured and tailored to the needs/expectations and previous knowledge of the student. Doctor Mike Yuen is an understanding teacher who strongly motivates the student. The arrangement of the lessons is uncomplicated and the appointments are always reliably kept. The teaching content of the Square Method opens another layer to experience the depth of Yang Tai Chi. In-person training of Power Pushing Hands is a potent tool that gives the student a sense of whole-body consolidation with the associated stability and strength.
